ONE PEOPLE

Wilfred Moniz

“Thank you very much for clicking on my profile. My name is Wilfred Moniz and I have nearly 15 years of experience practicing law. As most lawyers in my small island country (São Tomé and Príncipe), I have a general law practice, although banking law and real estate are the areas where I spend more time. I founded my law office in 2015 and currently have a 4-lawyer team. I have a deep connection with the Middle East and the Muslim world in general as I got my law degree from the Islamic University of Medinah in Saudi Arabia where I lived between 2001 and 2008, having previously lived in Egypt. I am actively involved in the Muslin community and I am a founding member of the Mohamed VI Foundation, the CPLP Islamic council and the Arab Association for Human Rights.”
I am currently the President of the São Tomé Law Society, having been elected in 2020 for a 4-year term (until 2023). Serving my fellow colleagues and the São Tomé legal community is a task that gives me great joy and fulfilment.
