Musician, vocalist of the band Maubere Timor which sings patriotic songs composed in the mountain refuge during the fight against the Indonesian occupation. In 1975, at age 19, he fled to the mountains of Timor-Leste following the invasion of Indonesia after independence from Portugal. “Berliku” is the name of a bird that sings every morning. Domingos spent many years as a refugee in the mountains, and during a battle was wounded with five shots, and also wounded in the legs following a bombardment. He was captured and imprisoned by the Indonesians.
