I graduated from the Faculdade de Direito de Lisboa and subsequently worked for over 15 years at two of the largest and most prestigious law firms in Portugal. The primary focus of my practice has always been and continues to be Commercial Litigation. I have, however, worked on projects at an international level in Dispute Resolution (Arbitration and Litigation as well as general legal consultancy) with a focus mostly on Angola , São Tomé & Principe and Cabo Verde.
My sector experience in the Oil&Gas sector led me to provide legal consultancy for the state concessionaire of a major African lusophone jurisdiction.”
It would be fair to say that a number of lawyers claim to have a social conscience and are active in CSR and pro-bono projects, but in Carla’s case she not only talks the talk, but also walks the walk. During her time at two of the biggest corporate law firms in Portugal she was instrumental in driving projects by acting as a valuable member of CSR committees. She has worked as a trainer and teacher on a number of local initiatives and projects in Angola
